Succinity® biobased succinic acid belongs to the family of dicarboxylic acids. Succinic acid, which is also known under the name "butanediocic acid" and "amber acid", has traditionally been produced via petro-chemical routes, for example through hydrogenation of maleic acid. Technological development and an increased need for renewable resources have led to the development of new, biobased production routes.

Due to its high biobased content, and the CO2 fixation during the production process, Succinity biobased succinic acid can help our customers to significantly improve their carbon footprint. We have performed a life-cycle analysis that demonstrates that the carbon footprint of biobased succinic acid is >60% lower than that of fossil-based succinic acid.
